Tell me again how the SEC protects investors and acts as a deterrent to fraud.
These crooks ripped off consumers, cost shareholders a ton of money, and the government has also been defrauded, because of the scam that private "college" ITT was.
So what are their penalties for massive fraud? Are they going to the slammer, and having to disgorge their ill-gotten gains?
OF COURSE NOT.
"Neither Modany nor Fitzpatrick admitted or denied wrongdoing, but they agreed to pay penalties of $200,000 and $100,000, respectively. Both are barred from serving as officers and directors of public companies for five years."
