I think he is basically unemployed and acts as a consultant- so the CFO titles he gets are only titles. I think he probably gets most of his pay once he puts a deal together for these companies, basically acting as a third party investment banker, but the companies get to say he is their CFO while he's working for them, so it sounds better. Pretty funny he's CFO of 2 companies at once.

I have from a reliable source that Barney was let go from Ladenberg- not sure of the circumstances, but he didn't last there very long.
