I'll throw out the scenario Adamas Pharmaceuticals as an example does an all stock deal and AMBS gets a significant amount of shares. AMBS sp shoots WAY up there after the deal. Cash no longer is a problem. Keep in mind Adamas would be responsible for bring the asset forward.
Why would Adamas do a deal? I haven't looked into how effect their drug is, but I know from experience one size does not fit all. That's why for some indications there can be 2-5 or more choices. It would be a way for them to OWN the market share and lock out other competitors down the road.
I will say, this is fun again. After a long time of silence we now know enough to speculate with a reasonable certainty we are more right than the circus clown.
