In my opinion, if Platinum acquires Lifescan, then prior to that there will have been a resolution to the current litigation between DECN and J&J. Of course, there’s a small chance that the suit will not have been resolved by then, but I believe there’s a much better chance that there will be some sort of settlement before the sale goes through.

Also, I believe that Platinum knows all about DECN’s technology, and they are doing their due diligence to understand this technology. Since DECN is tangled up with J&J/Lifescan, I’m sure Platinum is doing their homework. You don’t make 2.1 billion dollar purchases with knowing what you’re getting into.
