BTGI will act as a broker matching customer requirements with shipping available.

All carriers have excess capacity and spare space on trucks on certain runs - particularly those from ports to major cities.

I would imagine that BTGI will build a relationship with various other shippers for a commission and possibly also set up an on-line bidding system (like U-Ship).

It's not a matter of competition - maximising utilisation of available freight capacity benefits all trucking companies and getting multiple bids for loads benefits customers.
