Art ..its only in this case that Apple would jump to microleds as you said to escape dependancy on OLED supply.As far as qd film I still think it will get a 5 -7 year window and QLED will come on in that time as a premium product.Microleds will be the mainstream for Apples small devices moving forward.The option to switch from OLED hasnt fully arrived and why its gaining traction.So many articles on OLED screen issues to date that its no small issue that they can sweep under the rug.
