A few years ago, Cadmium-core QD performed better than Cad-Free QD. Recently, CFQD have performed at levels that meet the specs of OEMs.
If the advances that increased CFQD performance can be applied to Tetrapod Cd QD so there will continue to be a difference by the better performance of Cd, then Tetrapod Cd QD will be used for solar PV applications where best performance is a mandatory factor. First Solar uses CdTe in their solar panels, and new perovskite solar cells can use both lead Pb and Cd.
