The coequal branches are an 'idealization' not always realized, but the inherent slowing down of change for good or bad, which was the intention, is still there.

The 'saucer' that is the Senate just needs to be wider and deeper to 'cool' the molten bat-shit that spills over because of gerrymandered Congressional districts.

Libruls would like to rid of us of the defects of that. Conservatives, not so much.

Quote:
George Washington is said to have told Jefferson that the framers had created the Senate to "cool" House legislation just as a saucer was used to cool hot tea. Perhaps Pennsylvania's James Wilson, a convention delegate, should have the last word on this anniversary.

I think your depiction of an "entrenched ruling class and its' pr department (media) that demonizes anything that removes control from it's grasp..." is more conservative mumbo jumbo, boogeyman, man behind the curtain paranoia.

You're trying to make sense of shit you don't like, we all do, but your 'diagnosis' lacks hard evidence to support it.

You need to 'Quincy' it up a bit.
