I am speaking from my own personal experience on the significance of this drug. I had an autologous stem cell transplant on April 24, 2014, for a rare blood disease, primary amyloidosis. This was not for head & neck cancer, & I received no radiation.
I was advised that OM was a real possibility & I was very compliant with the then current standards of care. There was no approved treatment other than as you described. I witnessed a lady with multiple myeloma contract a very severe case. Very sad as she had 5 young children that her husband was bringing to the hospital every day.
My point is that OM is prevalent for multiple cancers & oncologists have been waiting for such a drug. I've already discussed this with two of my doctors, both Hemotologist/ Oncologists. My daughter is also specializing in this area. This treatment will be prescribed in a big way, I'm convinced of that.
Just another potential fantastic opportunity.
