You keep arguing the present. I'm arguing for looking ahead to the near future. Investment is all about the future potential. Solar will, without a doubt, be the most economical energy source within 5-10 years. So why try to hinder its progress in the market. Let it build up slowly so that the economic impact to other energy production sources is over a slower period.
Natural gas prices are reeking havoc on the nuclear sector in deregulated markets. Have you see how many plants have shutdown or are shutting down in the next 5 years? That alone will drive up the price of energy because these are large base load plants that aren't quickly replaced.
