if you want the bears to go away....you gotta stop feeding them...
I know what people are thinking...no..!! they are still there!!! Yes they may well be..but what this metaphor is really saying is that when you stop paying attention to them..you don't notice them anymore. So yes, they don't appear they are there as often. sometimes dissappearing all together.
