With e-trade if you have over 2k in the account you can upgrade to Margin account for free and it makes funds available immediately. Once I sell a ticker for profits and hit refresh it shows up as available purchase funds so I can nail the next play if I choose. With the Margin account I think you basically borrow against e-trade until the money clears. It also gives you higher purchasing power than your own capital in the account. Check it out!!
