don't forget, the market was down five days in a row in anticipation of going 'over the cliff'.  that is still very real.  people want cash and are more willing to pay the taxes on their gains for coin in their accounts.  makes sense for many.  that doesn't mean those who chose not to sell weren't justified.  When news comes that K works and P goes into trials, those who sold may indeed have returned and might have saved a few dollars but more importantly for them, put their mind at ease when considering the unknown outcome of the coming crisis.  And they may have to pay more tax than if they held but peace of mind isn't short sighted.  Some of us, can hold as I did and we will be able to profit take sooner than those who took the other road.  Long term, we'll see - that's for sure.
