Why it's so important to be careful in how clinical trial results are interpreted:
Amgen's new, $14k/year cholesterol drug lowers cholesterol levels amazingly. So NY Times reports that it reduces heart attacks and strokes, but is very expensive.
Then NPR digs into it more, and guess what -- it slightly reduces risk of heart attacks and strokes, but does NOT lower the death rate.
