Iv'e read that the exchanges sell 6 to 8 different levels of access, some of which are computer/algorithm based which facilitates firms that pay the premium to "see" our orders as they work through the system allowing them to step in front of lower level access orders or to withdraw their posted orders before we buy or sell based upon what we see.
