Both procedures (endoscopy and colonoscopy) require anesthesia. The only unpleasantness is the colon cleansing before the colonoscopy. Other than that, no one should remember anything from either procedure. I've had several of both, and don't remember a thing except someone waking me up. Propozal is commonly used for colonoscopies. The Michael Jackson drug. Endoscopies require that the patient is intubated at the time and is a bit more complicated.
