I'm not the one who thinks things were fine before the civil rights bills, or before opportunities for women in the workplace were expanded.
As for the 'right side of history'?
From women's suffrage, though integration of the military and of society at large, there have always been conservatives, in both Parties, saying "whoa, not so fast" or "not at all. Things were just fine when I was a kid, where's the problem?"
YOU don't even have to have stuck it out in school, you saw it. As did I.
THAT'S what the reactionaries mean when they say 'we want our country back'. they want to climb into the 'way-back machine' and travel back to when it was 'better' for them, and not so good for many others.
