They basically have unlimited funds with their business so can invest in many drugs that interest them. Give money to a company to complete trials with the dollars already coming in the door to pay for it. Not a bad place to be. Wouldn't surprise me if they also gave C the dollars to complete their trials too. Especially if there were any issues with the existing commitment.
