It's simply a matter of the risk your willing to take verses the reward you can expect. I took a large risk buying shares while the conversions were going on and the RS was still on the table. Nothing wrong with waiting until they file (or as some think IF they file).

You never know I'm sure many Investors thought they were safe investing in blue chips such as Kodak (one of the original Dow 30 socks) before they went belly up. How many people had their whole retirement invested in GM etc?
