Actually progressive tax rates and redistribution of revenues are accurately described as socialism. Infrastructure spending and spending for public health & safety, fire fighters and cops, are socialism in action.
You don't like that benign but accurate description of socialism.
You cling to the government control 'model' that sets you off every time you hear or read the word.
Notwithstanding the politics and economics in Canada, they do have broader health care coverage at lower rates, lower % of GDP, with better outcomes. That IS the prevailing situation in single health care countries.
If you can show me something that shows the U.S health care system, using the same criteria, placing us even in the top ten, then you've got your point.
You can't do it. I concede world class U.S hospitals and Physicians and surgeons that the rest of the wealthy world flies in to take advantage of.
You know, the same institutions and doctors we can't afford?!
