$TPAC Thanks, Dan! I am glad to know that I am able to help.
While message boards can be filled with confusion, as there are a ton of emotions flying based on the ups and downs of the chart, coupled with the fact that many push an agenda(sometimes to the detriment of others), what is left over is a ton of experience to learn from. I also consider this on the job training and forever will. I learn all the time from people on here. I consider it a privilege to be able to gain info on fundamentals, charts, trading psychology and even educated guesses in the form of honest speculation.
You seem to have a very good hang of reading people, as you already mentioned. The good part is that all of this is nothing more than patterns. Once the patterns in one area become clear, they lend themselves to other branches of the trade. It is amazing tying all of this together and something I find to be a ton of fun, though admittedly more so when we're trending towards new highs.
All that you mention about the emotional charge and lack of substance in some posters is spot on. It has become humorous to me. Once I see that posting pattern in someone, instinctively, I no longer take them or their posting seriously. I do read the honest complaints and concerns though. Every company is going to have them at some point and it is better to hash them out and be done than it is to let them linger.
There is a bit of luck in all of this, but it sounds like you are well on your way and learning quickly. It's a pleasure to have you on the team, luck or not.
