I called Scottrade and talked to a broker and by telephone they were able to put in a sell order at $5. That's good but during the conversation the broker informed me that none of my activity by doing this is doing much good at all. At Scottrade they do not allow shorting of any security that is below $5. No one inside or outside of Scottrade has access to borrow my shares. So realistically locking up my shares, according to the broker, is not furthering my cause by shutting out the shorters. He also said that naked shorters don't even borrow the shares to begin with so there is no impact upon them.
