Just trying to understand. If responses to a deleted post are automatically deleted over "there," then why are there so many posts which respond to "deleted message?" Has the algo changed recently or am I just lucky that I get to see so many of them? Just lucky I guess.

The only reason it was deleted was because the original post was deleted. That is just an algorithm. Replies to deleted posts are generally deleted.
