I just can fathom us hitting water at this spot, especially in light of this whole penninsula looking like its a mountain range, at least in the sense of it going much higher the further you go inland on both sides. Overburden to pure iron, to water? I honestly know nothing about this, but that just doesnt sound right. I supoose their could be pockets of random underground lakes, but wouldnt a magma flow torch any nearby liquid? Way out of my league here.
