there was a good explanation on YMB recently explaining Dr. Urano's switch to the small molecule from MANF. Cost is lower with the small molecule but there is a higher toxicity level. It may have been posted by PhostGhost (sp).

Since I don't have the technical background and since I have a horrendous memory I suggest a reply form a more educated source would be appreciated.
