I will sell weeklies regularly due to significant time erosion and the knowledge that if you go deep OTM, the vast majority of the strikes expire worthless.  The caveat is that you need to know when and how to manage a position when the underlying moves against you, even if you are still OTM.

My VXX play is a DITM directional biased longer term play, so weeklies would not be a great idea.  Otherwise, I trade weeklies all of the time.
