You understand that Fire Lane will never call Mat Dwyer or the CEO of any other pinksheet he bashes. This is all for public consumption and not due to anything really happening at the company: fear, uncertainty, doubt (FUD). He knows what he's saying is incorrect.
You need to understand what you're invested in. That means reading the PR's and filings, and assessing whether the company is progressing its business agenda (share price over time responds accordingly). That really applies to any stock, not just BCAP.
