Kgem, I have not totally researched what the tigerlynk is suppose to do. I have watched the demo. As far as I can tell, tigerlynk grabs the tree above the cut line. This is going to cause issues because the is no anchor point. At best it will slow operations. As far as the stump goes (not that they will want the stump), it looks like equipment ont the end of the boom would have to be changed out to go after the stump.


The sharc moves slower underwater to get to the trees. One has to watch for the umbilical cord. Also, recovery after the cut looks slower because the retrieval equipment has to be out of the way until the log surfaces. But grabbing the tree below the cutline provides much need stability. Tigerlynk will not only not have that but it will get worse as the length of the boom grows.
