Celebrating the Next Generation of Real Estate Leaders
Altus Group Limited (TSX: AIF) proudly highlights the success of its 16th annual ARGUS University Challenge, commemorating the program's enduring legacy and Altus Group's pivotal role in the commercial real estate (CRE) sector, especially as they mark their 20th anniversary as a public entity.
The ARGUS University Challenge serves as a global competition devised by Altus Group, aimed at immersing university students into the intricate world of CRE investment analyses. Participants utilize ARGUS software to confront complex investment scenarios, requiring them to develop financial forecasts, evaluate risks, and establish investment strategies for hypothetical CRE portfolios, ultimately enhancing their industry readiness.
This year saw participation from over 124 students across 24 universities worldwide, each team showcasing their ability to identify and articulate compelling investment opportunities using the cutting-edge ARGUS Enterprise, which is now integrated into ARGUS Intelligence. This platform enhances data analysis capabilities for improved decision-making.
Each participating team confronted the task of analyzing a simulated real estate scenario while presenting a detailed investment proposal. Expert judges evaluated the submissions based on the students' use of ARGUS’s valuation modelling, discounted cash flow analysis, and performance forecasting features, tools that have influenced CRE performance evaluation for decades and are essential components taught at more than 200 global academic institutions.
“We’re thrilled to provide students with the opportunity to gain practical skills that will transition them smoothly into the industry,” said Rich Sarkis, President of ARGUS Software and Data at Altus Group. “This year’s challenges showcased how vital data and analytics are for sound investment decisions. Our newly developed ARGUS Intelligence platform was crafted with the needs of today’s data-savvy professionals in mind, aimed at delivering deeper insights, quicker workflows, and more astute decisions.”
