Wood Partners Launches New Living Space in Thriving Durham

Wood Partners Introduces Alta Durham Summit in Durham

The 312-unit community will offer updated, modern living with convenient access to Downtown Durham.

National multifamily developer Wood Partners has officially announced the closure on the exciting new project, Alta Durham Summit. This remarkable 312-unit multifamily community is set to start construction soon, with plans to welcome residents by Summer 2027.

The introduction of Alta Durham Summit comes as a significant contribution to the housing market in the area, as it will replace the existing vacant office park known as the Durham Summit. Its strategic location near a newly renovated office building that houses Durham Technical Community College stands to benefit many residents. Additionally, the community provides easy access to shopping, dining, and various amenities in Downtown Durham, alongside proximity to Duke University, Duke University Hospital, and local parks.

Caitlin Shelby, the managing director at Wood Partners, expressed enthusiasm for the project, stating, "We’re looking forward to bringing Alta Durham Summit to life, adding much-needed housing to a growing part of the city. This project reflects Wood Partners’ commitment to delivering high-quality communities that uplift the residents’ daily lives while enhancing the surrounding neighborhoods. With its fantastic location near Downtown, Alta Durham Summit allows residents to explore everything this vibrant city has to offer."

Community Features of Alta Durham Summit

Alta Durham Summit will feature a variety of layouts, including one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments housed within three- to four-story buildings. Residents will enjoy state-of-the-art amenities that cater to modern lifestyles—these include a swimming pool, dog park, dog spa, and plenty of open space for leisurely activities. Each unit is designed with convenience and luxury in mind, showcasing upscale finishes such as granite countertops and stainless steel appliances, along with top-tier community amenities.

Wood Partners’ Influence in Durham

This project marks Wood Partners' fifth endeavor in Durham in recent years, showcasing a growing commitment to enhancing the community. Earlier this year, Wood Partners commenced work on another development, Alta Bethpage, which comprises 336 units and represents the final phase of the impressive Bethpage Master Plan Development.
