Voltalia Expands Operations with Major Renewable Energy Contract

Voltalia's New Strategic Contract in Brazil

Voltalia, an international leader in renewable energy, has announced an exciting new chapter in its growth by signing a maintenance contract in Brazil for 940 megawatts of wind energy capacity. This significant agreement marks a crucial partnership with COPEL Get, a subsidiary of one of Brazil's preeminent utility companies, COPEL.

Details of the Maintenance Agreement

The five-year deal encompasses maintenance services for six wind clusters situated in the productive region of Rio Grande do Norte. These clusters include Brisa Potiguar, Cutia, Bento Miguel, São Bento do Norte, Jandaíra, Aventura, and Santa Rosa Mundo Novo.

Comprehensive Range of Services

Under this contract, Voltalia will perform a range of critical maintenance tasks. These include both preventive and corrective maintenance of collector substations and medium-voltage networks, along with the management of 138 and 230 kV transmission lines. Additionally, local operations of interconnection facilities and spare parts management will be an integral part of the service provision.

Strengthening the Partnership

This contract symbolizes a strengthening of Voltalia's long-term alliance with COPEL. Indeed, COPEL has held a minority stake in Voltalia’s SMG wind farm since 2015, which boasts a capacity of 108 megawatts. Moreover, COPEL has been a significant player in various agreements, including long-term power sales contracts for Voltalia’s solar plants, collectively amounting to 270 megawatts. They have also procured 187 megawatts of wind assets, contributing to a shared goal of advancing renewable energy.

The Impact of This Agreement

With approximately 4.1 gigawatts of operational capacity spread throughout the state, Voltalia is not only contributing significantly to Brazil's renewable energy landscape but is also enhancing its own operational capabilities. This latest contract will enable Voltalia to boost its energy offerings, ensuring greater efficiency and reliability in service delivery.

CEO's Vision for Growth

Reflecting on the journey of growth, Robert Klein, CEO of Voltalia, stated, “In the last five years, Voltalia has more than quintupled its portfolio operated for third parties in Brazil, consolidating itself as one of the main players in the market and strengthening its presence in strategic hubs such as Rio Grande do Norte. This new contract reflects not only the trust of our partners, but also our commitment to offering high-performance solutions that guarantee efficiency, reliability, and sustainable growth in the renewable energy sector.”

Looking Ahead: Future Prospects

The upcoming agenda for Voltalia includes the release of Q4 2024 turnover data, which is set for January 29, 2025, after the close of trading. Investors and stakeholders will be keenly anticipating this update, as it may provide more insights into the company’s financial health and future endeavors.
