Vitaly Shmakov's Professional Journey
Bringing nearly two decades of experience in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and corporate law, Vitaly has been an integral part of VEON since 2016. His previous roles within the company include Deputy General Counsel for Corporate, M&A and Strategic Transactions, Associate General Counsel, and Senior Legal Counsel. Before his tenure at VEON, he was a Senior Associate at Ashurst LLP, a well-respected international law firm in London. He holds two LL.M degrees—one in International Business and Trade Law from NYU and another in Corporate & Financial Services from the National University of Singapore. Currently, he is pursuing an Executive MBA at the London Business School.
