Advancements in Plasma Production
The FrontlineODP™ System is impressively engineered to empower both military and civilian blood centers to produce dried plasma from liquid donor plasma in a remarkably quick process of just thirty minutes. The dried plasma is stored in ultra-lightweight plastic bags which have an impressive shelf life of up to two years, ensuring durability and ease of transport. This system allows for rapid rehydration at the point of injury—taking less than three minutes—making it invaluable for immediate care of patients suffering from severe bleeding.
Global Reach and Capacity
This innovative decentralized manufacturing model envisions a worldwide network of numerous blood centers, each equipped to dry thousands of plasma units annually. With the accelerating adoption of the FrontlineODP™ System, leading blood centers across North America, Europe, and the Indo-Pacific are expected to contribute to a staggering combined output that could exceed 100,000 units per year.
To keep up with demand, Velico is close to finalizing plans for new production facilities specifically dedicated to creating FrontlineODP™ consumables for the European and Indo-Pacific markets. Each of these advanced facilities, which will be fully automated, is designed to manufacture up to 250,000 units each year. When combined with existing facilities in the U.S., Velico's total manufacturing ability could reach nearly one million units of spray dried plasma annually.
