UAB Energy Investments: Insights on Q4 2024 Financials

UAB Energy Investments Reports Q4 2024 Highlights

UAB “Atsinaujinan?ios energetikos investicijos” has recently published a comprehensive factsheet detailing its performance and strategic direction for the renewable energy sector as of the end of 2024. The report sheds light on the company's investment portfolio, significant events, and crucial financial indicators essential for stakeholders.

Key Events of Q4 2024

The company reported an aggregated revenue of 6,420 kEUR and EBITDA totaling 4,155 kEUR for FY 2024. Notably, the wind parks managed by UAB “Žaliosios investicijos” underperformed, producing 14% less energy than anticipated, alongside a significant 32% decrease in captured prices. These challenges primarily arose from low wind conditions throughout the year coupled with declining electricity market prices.

In an important strategic move, the Investment Company divested a 65.5 MW operating Solar PV portfolio located in Poland, thus reshaping its asset configuration. Furthermore, adjustments to the Fund’s net asset value (NAV) reflect a downturn attributed to unfavorable evaluations of two remaining solar PV portfolios in Poland. This downturn aligns with market forecasts predicting a 30% reduction in electricity prices and a rise in the weighted average cost of capital (WACC) due to incomplete construction phases. Conversely, positive valuation adjustments were noted for UAB “Žaliosios investicijos” and Zala Elektriba SIA, credited to the successful acquisition of construction permits.

Solar Development Projects in Poland

Progress continues on the 67.8 MW capacity PV Energy Projects sp.z o.o portfolio, which is nearing completion. As of the reporting period, 44.8 MW of this capacity is operational, with plans to energize an additional 5 projects at 1 MW each set for Q1 2025. The overall project completion date is targeted for September 2025.

Additionally, the PL SUN sp.z o.o. portfolio boasts a total capacity of 114.7 MW, divided into two developmental phases. The first phase, comprising 66.6 MW, has substantially wrapped up, with 26.4 MW already energized by Q4 2024. Energization for the remaining 40.2 MW is anticipated by Q2 2025. Construction for the second phase of 48.1 MW commenced in October 2024, with supply agreements for modules and inverters finalized, and significant progress achieved on mounting structures across several sites.

Advancements in Wind Projects

On the wind energy front, UAB “Atsinaujinan?ios energetikos investicijos” secured an energy production license for the Anykš?iai wind farm in mid-2024, with additional licenses for the Jonava and Rokiškis wind farms expected by Q2 2025. The development of a significant 112 MW wind farm under Zala Elektriba SIA is also projected to reach Ready to Build (RtB) status in Q1 2025, marking a crucial step in enhancing the company’s renewable energy footprint.

Hybrid Energy Projects

Moreover, design activities are currently underway for hybrid projects managed by UAB “KNT Holding” and UAB “Ekoelektra.” These efforts focus on finalizing equipment specifications and essential agreements for project infrastructure, all geared towards creating a sustainable energy future.
