2024 Texas REALTOR® of the Year
The prestigious title of 2024 Texas REALTOR® of the Year was awarded to Cindi Bulla from the Amarillo Association of REALTORS®. Bulla's extensive experience spanning over 25 years has significantly impacted both the profession and the Amarillo community. Her involvement in various advisory roles, including her chairmanships at Texas REALTORS® and the Amarillo Association of REALTORS®, showcases her dedication.
Distinguished Service Award
The Distinguished Service Award went to Robert Wright of Austin, who has been an active member of the REALTOR® organization for an impressive 45 years. Wright has contributed tirelessly since 1992, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to his community and the industry. As one of the founding board members of the Austin chapter of the National Association of Real Estate Brokers, his impact is felt broadly.
Recognition for Community Contributions
In addition to individual awards, the event honored community champions. Kent Redding received the 2024 Good Neighbor Award for his volunteer work with Mobile Loaves and Fishes, assisting the chronically homeless. His efforts to connect people with vital resources extend to numerous organizations, including Community First! Village and Hungry Souls.
Educator of the Year
Shelyna Tinglin was celebrated as the 2024 Educator of the Year for her remarkable contributions in real estate education. Her service on the Texas Real Estate Commission Education Standards Advisory Committee and her leadership role in the Collin County Area REALTORS® Board of Directors highlight her commitment to improving educational standards within the industry.
Global Impact Award
The inaugural Richard Miranda Global Achievement Award was presented to Adrian Arriaga, acknowledging his leadership in global real estate for over four decades. Arriaga has been instrumental in bridging U.S. companies with high-net-worth Spanish-speaking investors, enhancing real estate opportunities across borders.
Exemplary Local Associations
Recognition was also given to three local associations for their innovative educational programs. The San Antonio Board of REALTORS® received an award for innovation, the Houston Association of REALTORS® for marketing, and the Austin Board of REALTORS® in the legal category.
Honoring Professional Diversity and Leadership
Among the many awards, Danielle Tucker Shepard from the Fort Hood Area Association of REALTORS® was recognized for her exceptional educational program. Furthermore, Gilbert Gonzalez from the San Antonio Board of REALTORS® was honored with the 2024 Tom D. Morton Award, acknowledging his outstanding contributions to association leadership and community initiatives.
Grassroots Advocacy Recognition
Jeff Varnell from the MetroTex Association of REALTORS® was named Grassroots Advocate of the Year for his proactive engagement with policymakers on real estate issues. Other individuals recognized for their grassroots efforts included community leaders from various REALTORS® associations.
Diversity Recognition Program
Local associations promoting diversity received accolades as well. The awards highlighted efforts by groups such as the Austin Board of REALTORS® and the Greater Fort Worth Association of REALTORS®, showcasing their commitment to inclusivity within the profession.
Young Professionals Network Awards
Recognizing emerging leaders, the Young Professionals Network awarded six members under 40 with the REALTORS® to Watch Award. Their dedication to community involvement and professional success exemplifies the future of the real estate industry.
Commercial Specialist Scholarship
Outstanding achievements in education were also acknowledged with the Texas Accredited Commercial Specialist Scholarship, awarded to several promising individuals pursuing careers in commercial real estate.
