The opportunity arose through Northern Tool + Equipment's Legends Build: Student Challenge, an initiative aimed at breathing life into trade careers for the next generation. What’s the catch? Building a racing bike inspired by the iconic Harley-Davidson XR750.

“Even though many people thought we couldn't make it happen, we put in the time and effort and got it done just in time,” said Talley Barber, student and build team co-captain.

On June 6th, under the gleaming sun at Nashville's Sons of Speed Short Track, the motorcycle will take its first cruise. And not just any ride—led by Flat Track legend Chris Carr. It will lap ahead of the American Flat Track races, each turn a testament to youthful determination and grit.

“I'm lucky enough to say this was my second Northern Tool Student Build, so far, but will also say, this is the first time I thought the build team wouldn't get it done. It was dicey for a bit. Fast forward to today and I'm so proud of this group of students,” Billy Lane expressed.
