Tamarack Resort is set to lift the curtain early on its Tamarack Express chairlift, swinging back into action for those summer mountain escapades. They were gunning for an original kickoff on July 8th but managed to bring it ahead to July 4th, just in time for the holiday vibes. Hats off to the operational grit getting it done faster so folks can have their fill of biking and hiking routes with a prime view over Lake Cascade.
Safety Comes First
Not only did they shuffle around a hefty lift tower in partnership with Leitner-Poma, but the team also passed every safety check with flying colors. As Kara Finley, the savvy COO of Tamarack Resort, pointed out, safety was the kingpin through the whole process. And they didn't do it solo. They had Granite Excavation, ALLWEST Testing & Engineering, Knife River, and Salmon River Helicopters in the ring on this one. A proper team effort paid off big time.
What's in Store for Visitors
Now that the chairlift's ready to rock, Tamarack won't be missing a beat. Starting July 4th, they’re back to full-time operations from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for the opening weekend, shifting to their usual programming post the holiday dash. And it's not just about summer hikes or biking adventures. The Mid-Mountain Lodge will spice up the scene with BBQ and bar service, rolling out with live music starting on July 11th. That’s an experience package not many resorts offer.
All Eyes on Big Mountain Enduro
Another feather in the cap is the Big Mountain Enduro event taking place on July 10th – 11th. It's back after stealing the show in 2025, pulling in enthusiasts without the lid on registration fees or camping disconnects. Grab your gear—whether it's a full-access All Season Pass, a LOAM Pass, or just a bike haul ticket—and be there for a few adrenaline-laden days. And snagging a $20 snack voucher with those bike tickets takes the edge off any hunger pangs while you soak up the lodge offer.
