To alleviate this hardship, Toyota and the Toyota Lexus Minority Owners Dealership Association (TL-MODA) are collaborating with The Salvation Army and community partners to provide 16,900 backpacks filled with vital educational supplies to students in need across the nation.
Distribution of Backpacks
The initiative aims to ensure that students are ready for the school year with confidence and necessary materials. Backpacks will be distributed through a network of Toyota and Lexus dealerships, plant locations, and The Salvation Army, focusing on reaching families in 71 communities nationwide. In total, 6,500 backpacks will be given to families that have pre-registered at the TL-MODA dealerships in partnership with The Salvation Army. Additionally, 5,000 backpacks will be delivered directly by The Salvation Army to pre-registered clients. Toyota will also provide 5,000 backpacks to select local schools from its plant locations. Finally, another 400 backpacks will be distributed through TL-MODA dealerships in collaboration with various community organizations.
