Exploration Continues at East Sullivan
TORONTO — Sulliden Mining Capital Inc. (“Sulliden” or the “Company”) (TSX: SMC) is excited to announce its upcoming exploration plans at the East Sullivan Copper Gold project. Nestled in the Abitibi greenstone belt, this area is renowned for its rich deposits of base metals and gold.
Strategic Location and Potential
This project is located less than 1km from the active Triangle deposit, which is known for its underground mine operated by Eldorado Gold on the Lamaque property. The Lamaque Property boasts impressive indications, producing 7.1 million tonnes at an extraordinary grade of 7.9g/t Au, delineating a substantial resource with 1.8 million ounces of gold in the measured and indicated categories.
Encompassing 334 hectares, Sulliden's concession includes the historical East-Sullivan Copper-Zinc-Gold-Silver Mine, situated less than 10km from Val D’or. This pliable location allows for further development and exploration endeavors in an area teeming with potential.
Drilling Success and Historical Context
Recent drilling activities have reinforced the understanding of the geological structure in the region, especially indicating the strike potential on both ends of the former mine. Notably, a gold-only zone was discovered 500 meters east of the previous mining stopes, underscoring the untapped potential of this area.
The East-Sullivan Mine had a productive operational history from 1949 to 1966, yielding significant quantities of Copper, Zinc, Gold, and Silver. Historical production levels are estimated at 15.0 million tonnes, characterized by grades of 1.1% Cu, 0.8% Zn, 0.3 g/t Au, and 9.7 g/t Ag. This impressive history lays a rich foundation for Sulliden's ongoing exploration activities.
