AB “Ignitis grup?” is excited to announce that the Stelpe solar farm II, managed by its subsidiary UAB “Ignitis renewables,” has officially commenced operations. This achievement marks a crucial milestone in the Group’s strategy for expanding renewable energy production.

Located in Latvia, the solar farm spans an area of 85 hectares. It boasts an impressive 121,000 solar panels, contributing to a total installed capacity of 72.5 MW. Total investment in the project is projected to be around EUR 54 million, which includes both acquisition and construction costs.

Part of a Larger Initiative

The Stelpe solar farm II is part of a broader initiative that includes a counterpart site, collectively known as the Stelpe solar project, with both sites delivering a combined capacity of 145 MW. This significant output is expected to meet the energy needs of approximately 70,000 households.

The Group also highlights that its first solar installation, Stelpe solar farm I, successfully reached its commercial operation date earlier. With the full operational status of both sites, the Group's total installed Green Capacities have now increased to an impressive 2.1 GW.
