Sable Resources Expands Copper Queen Project with New Discoveries
Exciting Developments at the Copper Queen Project
Sable Resources Ltd. (TSXV: SAE | OTCQB: SBLRF) has made a significant announcement regarding its Copper Queen Project in British Columbia. The company has successfully identified at least three magmatic-hydrothermal breccias that are highly mineralized with copper. This enhancement of the Copper Queen property demonstrates Sable's commitment to exploring valuable geological resources.
Growing the Copper Queen Property
Dr. Ruben Padilla, the President and CEO of Sable, emphasized the substantial expansion of the property, which now covers 13,880 hectares, up from its original size of 2,864 hectares. The geology team at Sable successfully confirmed the existence of these breccias, which were first documented by Anaconda back in 1968, marking a step forward in the project’s exploration potential.
Exploration Overview
Previous exploration efforts from 1968 to 1969 indicated the presence of quartz feldspar porphyry bodies and multiple mineralized breccias within a complex that spans about 4.5 by 2 kilometers. However, after Anaconda’s exploration, no further work occurred until Sable Resources took the lead in recent years, resulting in vital mapping and sampling activities.
Sample Collection and Results
Sable's exploration team collected a total of 251 rock samples and 123 soil samples during their preliminary mapping efforts. Out of the 57 analytical results received, copper concentrations peaked at 1.02% Cu, alongside gold and silver values that reached 9.74 g/t Au and 214 g/t Ag, respectively. Impressively, 25 samples returned copper values exceeding 0.1%.
Geological Insights and Breccia Characteristics
The geological framework of the Copper Queen project is primarily within a large Jurassic-age plutonic suite. It includes diverse rock types such as diorites, gabbros, and granites, which have undergone fracturing, leading to the formation of the observed breccias. The breccias show copper mineralization, notably represented by chalcopyrite and localized bornite within a cement matrix of quartz and calcite.
Additional Findings
Interestingly, low-angle quartz veins surrounding the breccias have also returned notable Au-Ag assay values, indicating the potential for significant precious metal mineralization in conjunction with copper.
Next Steps for Exploration
Sable's geological teams are actively engaged in examining more areas of the property, where additional copper mineralization has been identified outside the currently mapped breccias. The forthcoming results from these inquiries will provide further insight into the geological potential of the Copper Queen project.
