The radar systems being developed will include the Condor Mk3, which is an advanced cooperative surveillance radar capable of direct communication with aircraft transponders. It will also feature the ASR-XM, a non-cooperative radar system that uses reflected signals for aircraft detection. Both radar variants are certified and meet FAA surveillance requirements from previous test certifications.
Currently, more than 550 RTX radar systems are in operation across the national airspace, establishing a solid foundation for large-scale modernization. The Condor Mk3 and ASR-XM systems are known for their precision in tracking aircraft, especially at lower altitudes, which is critical for optimizing airspace safety.
