The Mid-September short interest represents 4.86 days average daily NASDAQ Global Market share volume for the reporting period, compared with 5.03 days for the prior reporting period.
Short interest in 541 securities on The NASDAQ Capital Market SM totaled 486,790,225 shares at the end of the settlement date of September 13, 2013 compared with 482,841,711 shares in 543 securities for the previous reporting period. This represents 5.57 days average daily volume, compared with the previous reporting period's figure of 5.93.
In summary, short interest in all 2,668 NASDAQ® securities totaled 7,548,361,824 shares at the September 13, 2013 settlement date, compared with 2,671 issues and 7,442,053,079 shares at the end of the previous reporting period.
