Goldrus...it affects more than you think. I am retired from the Air Force. The last time we experienced a government shut down while I was on active duty. We were told we were to still be at work and would not receive a paycheck until government issues were resolved. The civil service (civilians) government employees were told not to come to work and they would not receive pay for days not worked. Fortunately, the budget issues were resolved during first week of the shut down and military did get paid on time. However, civilian government employees in my section did not get paid for the week they missed due to no fault of their own. Military is salary and civilians are hourly paid.
I bet those on welfare still received their full payment!!
