Actually, it is not nearly as cut and dry as that--my husband, who is retired USAF and presently works for the Department of Defense (noted already in hell), has been very much affected by the BS, including a recent furlough. This crap flows a lot deeper than most people realize. The way the veterans & the military are affected is not as blatant as say posting a note on the front door that reads "Sorry we're closed due to government shutdown." 

It is a very sad state of affairs that will continue to pose long term negatives for many that have actually served this country and government, rather than take from it (military and non military alike).
