Tech Data's Banning and Natarajan Named to CRN's 100 People You Don't Know But Should List

CLEARWATER, Fla., Sept. 23, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Tech Data Corporation (Nasdaq: TECD ) today announced that both Greg Banning, the company's vice president, SMB Sales and general manager, Costa Rica Operations, and Bharath Natarajan, the company's director, Product Marketing, TDCloud and Software Services have been named by CRN to the 2013 100 People You Don't Know But Should list. Chosen by the CRN editorial staff with input from vendor, distribution, and solution provider executives, the list recognizes those who have demonstrable impact on vendor channel strategies, initiatives and programs. According to CRN, the list aims to recognize people working within the channel who are not necessarily in the spotlight, but are working behind the scenes to make positive things happen for their partners.

Banning rejoined Tech Data in April 2011 as vice president, SMB Sales and general manager, Costa Rica Operations. In this role, he is responsible for the development and deployment of Tech Data's SMB sales strategy, leading a sales force focused on delivering an exceptional customer experience to the company's SMB reseller base. Over the past year, Banning oversaw the introduction of TDPrioritySMB , a dedicated program for SMB resellers designed to provide them with specialized sales support, services and credit options that help them profitably grow their business.

"Greg leads our SMB sales team with unparalleled enthusiasm," said Pete Peterson, senior vice president, U.S. Sales at Tech Data. "His passion is infectious, as his team is continually focused on providing our SMB resellers with the tools they need to succeed and an outstanding customer experience that is tailored to the needs of their businesses. We look forward to the continued growth of this important business under Greg's leadership."

Natarajan was named director, TDCloud and Software Services in June 2012. In this role, he is responsible for the strategic direction of Tech Data's TDCloud business unit, dedicated to driving partner adoption, education, enablement and monetization of cloud solutions and offerings. Prior to his current role, Natarajan served in a global IT role, where he played an integral part in the development of the company's StreamOne platform, which powers its award-winning Solutions Store.

"Since the TDCloud business unit was formed last year, Bharath has played a major role in developing enablement strategies to help our channel partners successfully grow their cloud businesses," said Joe Quaglia, senior vice president, U.S. Marketing and president, TDMobility at Tech Data. "Bharath's proven technical expertise, deep understanding of cloud computing, and strong leadership ability make him a valuable asset to both our team and our channel partners. This unique combination of skills sets him apart as a trusted leader in the industry, and we look forward to the continued success of the TDCloud business unit."

"The hardworking individuals that work behind the scenes to fuel the IT channel are among the most important assets today," said Robert Faletra, chief executive officer, The Channel Company. "This invaluable list of 100 individuals represents the most impressive and influential colleagues working among us and we are honored to highlight their success."
