21 September 2013 / 0 comments On Thursday, security for former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton may have taken away smartphones from people who attended her speech because they feared some in the audience would protest her handling of the Benghazi scandal in which four Americans were murdered by terrorists nearly a year ago.
Clinton was in Miami to address a travel agents convention, and Andrew Rothberg, who was in the audience, “had his Galaxy Note II smartphone taken from him by security, which removed his picture of Clinton onstage.
” This incident happened in front of a Miami Herald reporter. Rothberg told the Herald that “he guessed at one point that Clinton’s handlers might have wanted to control the event to keep activists from infiltrating the event and raising awareness about issues like the attacks in Benghazi, Libya, on Sept. 11, 2012.”
Security at the event was also on the lookout for “people taking pictures or making recordings” because “none was allowed.”
