The only ones who benefit from a continually declining stock price are the shorts.
Shorts get a neat game going especially when they get wind of convertibles. Knowing that anxious lenders want their principal back and knowing that fledgling companies are more or less defenseless targets, the shorts, working with compliant market makers, bid whack their way to lower prices and get control of the game board in the absence of new investors. This is done in cahoots with crooked chat boards who give paid bashers the floor by hammering longs with deletions and bans.
As price erodes due to above, convertors see their window closing daily. As they sell, the price dives lower which encourages further selling by convertors, and increases the confidence level of shorts who stand ready to stifle any rally with their bid-whacking and size-flashing schemes when convertors pause and new investors fail to show.
