Carlsbad Contemporary Home -- Sophisticated Living

CARLSBAD, Calif., Sept. 16, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Even if you're not in the market for a home, it's always fun to dream. This month, those dreams are for sale at 3255 James Dr. in Olde Carlsbad. Built in 2001, this 3,300sqft, 5 bed, 4 bath concept home was designed with functional creativity and artistic taste.

Contemporary, yet with elements of Baja coastal, part museum and part sophisticated retreat, the home that Alisa and Isai Trejo built in 2001 reflects a balance of utility and design to accommodating a growing family while able to entertain.

"It was a labor of love," Alisa Trejo said. She continued, "from the architectural planning, to the permit process, and especially the round interior Venetian plaster walls, scaring most contractors away from the project altogether."

"Building a custom home can be fun on paper, but after you break ground, following through is another full-time job," Realtor® Marian Anthony said.

Designed with a ground floor guest suite, private entrance, and dedicated garage, that is ideal for weekend guests or in-laws. "Polished concrete floors are low maintenance, and perfect for pets and boys ," Alisa continued. A Jack-and-Jill bathroom for the 2 nd floor bedrooms, and a private west-wing master suite was essential in the initial plans.

From the beginning, the Trejo family fully understood the massive endeavor of a custom home construction, and anticipated the many hurdles to come – all but one. Alisa lost Isai, her husband, shortly after the completion of the home in 2001, just when the family needed him most, the boys were just 6, and 12. "It was a difficult time, and I was devastated," she said, after 15 years together, and stress of building the "family centric" dream home, they lost the most critical component.

After 8 years of wear and tear of raising her boys as a single mom, and running a K9 rescue, Alisa turned to local Realtor ®Marian Anthony to help her rejuvenate the home and prepare it for the market. "As if the home has come back to life," a neighboring resident said.

Listing Agent, Marian Anthony, a Carlsbad Broker who specializes in coastal real estate said, "This is a Ferrari of a homes, it just needed to be detailed. No doubt, it will go to someone with exquisite taste."

A broker caravan is scheduled for Wednesday September 18 th from 10:00AM- 5:00PM, and public open house is scheduled for September 28 th and 29 th from 10:00AM- 5:00PM.
