Florida elementary school teacher Benjamin Menendez showed porn to a six-year-old boy,  reports CBS Miami.

The fifth-grade teacher at Academy of International Education charter school in suburban Miami Springs has lost his job and is facing an obscenity charge.

Menendez’s tale of spectacularly bad decision-making began, of course, when he showed porn from his cellphone to his girlfriend’s six-year-old son. However, things went south for him when the boy mimicked the porn action he had seen—in front of his biological father.

The boy was able to identify Menendez, 38, from his driver’s license photo.

The arrest affidavit filed by police says that Mendendez asked the six-year-old boy if he enjoyed the porn.

School principal Vera Hirsh told CBS Miami that Menendez has already been summarily fired.

During a Wednesday bond hearing, a judge ordered Menendez to “have no contact with those minor children”—presumably children from his fifth-grade class, but possibly all other children, or all children. “You can’t visit them. You can’t call them. You can’t text them. You can’t email them.”

The judge also lowered the charge against the teacher. The older, harsher charge was lewd and lascivious conduct. The new, lighter charge is obscenity.

The local CBS affiliate also tracked down one of Menendez’s neighbors, Henry Duran, who said via a translator that he saw Menendez with kids regularly.

“You never know who’s your neighbor,” Duran observed.
